excel replacing my text

I am trying to type in1/60 and excel keeps replacing it with Jan 60 how do I
stop this?

Either pre-format the cell as TEXT or precede the entry with an apostrophe
like this: '1/60.

Hi Dutchess,

Try '1/60, if you want the division of 1/60, try "=1/60" (no quotes).

Excel see 1/60 as a date.

Preformat the cell as text or preface 1/60 with an apostrophe which won't
show in the cell.
