Excel Saving

Each time I open an Excel spreadsheet to view it and then
try to close it. I get a box asking me whether I want to
save the file. Even if no changes have been made. Is there
any way of disabling this feature?

Sounds like you have one or more Volatile functions, like TODAY() or similar
that calculates when the book is opened.
