Excel: secondary Y axes with log-scale X axis

I'm trying to make an XY scatter plot with two curves, one plotted on the primary Y axis and the other on the secondary Y axis.

So far, so good. But, I want the X axis to be in a log scale. When I try to do this, the "primary" Y axis curve is plotted correctly, but the "secondary" Y axis curve is plotted as if the X axis were still linear. The result is rather goofy. Any suggestions?

My preliminary guess is that your secondary data "think" they're
plotting against a secondary X-axis. Play around a bit with the Chart
Options and the Series Format dialogs and see what happens.

I created a chart of x^(1/2) and x^(1/3) in Excel X, and had no problem
setting up either one or both X-axes to display linear or log, and the
data series tracked appropriately.
