Excel Setup Assistant Problem

Hi,

I'm experiencing a problem with Excel and I'm pretty stumped.

I've recently installed Excel v.X and upon the initial launch, I'm
asked to personalize my copy and I enter my name and organization.
From there, it confirms my information and gives me the opportunity to
view the EULA. I accept this and it gives me my product
identification. Once I click through that, Excel opens.

Here's the problem; when I quit out of Excel and open it again, I'm
prompted to repeat the setup procedure.

I've repaired permissions and have browsed around the newsgroup; but
haven't found anything relevant.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Matthew:

I'd try the following steps:

1) Double-check that a trial version is not still installed.
2) Try in a new user; if that works, then trash the appropriate prefs
for the primary (~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Excel.plist and
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Excel.prefs.plist, in
particular)
3) Re-install

That'd be my suggestions. HTH.
