Excel showing files as read only , when they aren't.....

HI

I transferred my Excel 2003 files to A Vista machine.

When I make any changes to any of the workbooks and go to save them as
normal it's saying that they are read-only and would I like to save as a
different name.

I'm not sure why this is , when they aren't read only files. I've
checked the properties for each of them and this proves this to be so.

Is there a switch in the options panel I'm missing here? Why is it
saying they are read only when they clearly aren't?

Best Wishes

Is the directory that they are stored in read only. If so then each file
within the directory will be read only by default...
