Excel Solution for Data Analysis

L

Hello,
I hope someone can give me some tips as to how I can best develop an
analysis for 5 different worksheets. Basically, each worksheet is for
a different store location, under each worksheet are a number of items
that are ordered like flour, sugar and salt. Under each material
ordered are details on the price, i.e. price purchased at vendor, price
from vendor to warehouse, price from warehouse to us, and a total.
Now, I need to analyze all this data in one worksheet using drop down
lists. For example, I wanted to find out how much I've spent on flour
at Location 1 last year, this year and vs. what I've budgeted. So, my
question is (1) does anyone have a similar solution I can look at that
you can e-mail me, or (2) any tips as to how to use the drop down lists
to display a specific type of data on a 6th worksheet which I can then
analyze? I've been looking at this for 2 hours so I'd really
appreciate your help!

Maybe I can help you with this but I'll need more information. You said
"drop-down lists" so I take it that you are talking about using more than 1
drop-down list. What do you envision being in these lists?
If you wish, send me what you have via email. Remove "hello" from my
address. Work out an example of what you want to see when you pick out
something from the first list, something from the second, and so forth.
Give me as much detail as you can about the lists and how the contents of
the lists relate to the data in the other 5 sheets. HTH Otto

Thanks, but I don't see where your e-mail address is? I think it may be
better to do it via the forum that way if anyone can benefit from your
knowledge and my problem, then everyone is happy.

Please find the spreadsheet attached. Let me know what you think, and
if what I need is possible.

Thanks,
Lenita

The problem with you attaching a file to a newsgroup post is that none
of the regulars will open such an attachment. Attaching something to a post
is frowned upon. That's why I asked you to send it me via email.
With my response on your screen, you should have a menu across the top
that has, from the left, "New Post", "Reply Group", "Reply", "Forward", etc.
Click on Reply. The box that appears is a reply box and it has the senders
email address. Remove "hello" from my address. HTH Otto

Thanks for the info, but I don't have that menu that you mentioned.
Maybe it's because I'm only a "junior member", I'm not sure, but
nowhere, not even in your profile is your e-mail address made
available. If you provide your e-mail address in your reply, it would
be much appreciated, if not, at least you tried to help!
