excel spreadsheet from another spreadsheet

Is it possible to copy a spreadsheet (excluding some
columns) to create another spreadsheet that is read-only,
and when the original spreadsheet is modified, the copy
reflects the changes?

If so, how would I go about doing this? Simple
instructions appreciated.

Frank Kabel's answer is what you'll need to create a spreasheet whose values
change with the contents of another spreadsheet. So we hope that's what
you're looking for, because there is an inherent contradiction in the other
thing you were looking for: a read-only spreadsheet which gets updated....

After following Frank's advice, the OP just needs to protect the "read-only" sheet (Tools -> Protection... -> Protect Sheet) to get what I think he is after. Had to smile at the oxymoron Trevor :)
