Hello,
We have a large collection of Excel Spreadsheets which contain embedded sql
queries linked to an access database file that is connected to a Microsoft
SQL database. These Excel spreadsheets are now failing to refresh and update
data in their tables since we have moved our Microsoft SQL databases from one
server to another.
When already have changed the ODBC DSN system and file settings to point to
the new server but users still receive a ODBC connection error which by
default produces a window with the OLD Server still being displaying in the
drop down menu.
Despite changing the drop down menu displayng the OLD Server to point to the
New Server, this error still occurs.
We have come to the conclusion that there must be some sort of query
reference in either the excel spreadsheet or the Access file which is
retaining the reference to the old server and as a result pointing and
connecting to the old server.
Can anyone help me on a resolution and advise me on if there is a universal
resolution, as we have over a 100 spreadsheets to potentially repoint.
Best Wishes
