excel SS

I need to know how to copy cells that are different sizes
into a spreadsheet so that all the cells are the same size
so they can be sorted and filtered. When I copy the cells
and paste them into the new SS they are the same size as
when I did the copy. How do I make the larger cell all the
same so they can be sorted and or filtered.
My friend says he has a command on his SS that says
match destination format when he does a paste all the
cells are the same size. Please post or sent e-mail

Try using paste special. From the Edit menu, or right-
click popup menu, select Paste Special, then click
Formats, then click OK.

I am using excel 2000 when I do a paste special and go to
format it does not give me a format option in the drop-
down box that comes up when I clip paste special.
Can I call you or e-mail you for more information?
The problem is excel will not sort uneven merged cells
