We have weird problems that occur with Excel 2003 since a couple of weeks
now. All of our files are located on a Windows 2000 Server.
The primary problem is that when I want to print an Excel file by clicking
File..., Print... and use the dropdown menu to choose a network printer, the
program stop responding for a while before I'm able to print. Bigger the file
is, more it takes time to have access to the printer. And while I was waiting
to use the printer, I looked in Task Manager to find that Spoolsv.exe AND
Csrss.exe are using 100% CPU. This problem occurs only with Excel. When I'm
trying the same thing with Word, changing printers is fast and I don't have
to wait more than 2 sec.
Sometimes, while working on a work sheet, Excel stop responding for no
reason and comes back to normal after a while. Often, it happens when I want
to save the file. It writes "Not Responding" for a couple of minutes and
after a while, Excel save the worksheet and I can continue to work on it. The
file is approximately 1 Mo so it's not due to size...
I'm sure all these problems happens for the same reason but I can't find
that reason.......
Somebody.... help?
