Excel table hanging up in Word

I am trying to enter an excel table in a very simple Word doc and after I
save the file I can no longer get the table to open on my computer. I can
open it on anyone else's computer though. I have tried to uninstall my MS
Office 2003 and reinstall and still no luck. When I check the task Manager
after I close the document, Excel is still running in the background.

Can anyone Help????
