excel template needed

hi guys
I've got a list of Servers in an excel column. For example :
server01
server02
....
server100

For each element in this Server List I'd like to select a Software from a
Software List column. For example a Software List could be :
Operating System
Database
Other
....

For each element in this Software List I'd like to get License information.

Please Can you suggest me a useful excel template ?

many thanks

Actually, I'd suggest using Access for that task instead of Excel but it can
be done. You're not going to find a template that exactly suits your needs.
Since you already have a spreadsheet started, add some dropdown lists and
you've got what you want/need.

Hi JoAnn
I've never used Access but if there is a template I'd be happy to use it
instead of Excel.

Cheers
Giuseppe

I don't know if there is one for that task. If you're not an Access user,
stick with Excel. (This comes from an Access newbie - as in I'm just
learning how to use it. Not intuitive to me at all.) You probably don't need
anything fancy so it shouldn't take you long to set up a worksheet. You'd
only need four columns: Server name, type of SW, name of SW, license number.
I'd keep it simple. No need for fancy formatting, etc. ;-)
