Excel Time difference

I have two fields and am trying to get the difference of the time. The
times are in hh:mm:ss.0 format. When I use the formula a1-a2 I get an
error and #value appears.

The calculation seems to be easy according to the other posts I have
read and the excel help but for some reason I am not able to get it to
work.

Is a1 before a2? If so you are getting an error because it wont allow
negative times in its current state. You can change to 1904 date system to
allow negative times.
