Excel training for the MAC

I

Ian McIntosh

I am trying to find a training module that
provides/outlines introductory and intermediate Excel
training for the MAC. Also, if there is any information
available that outlines the differences (key strokes,
mouse use etc) between Excel on the MAC and PC.

Thansk in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Ian,

Excel's calculating, functions, and macros are almost identical to PC
versions.

The specific keyboard shortcuts are different for each version of Excel.
Read the help for your version of Excel. It should explain the keyboard
shortcuts for that version. Excel X lets you customize keyboard shortcuts.

Mac Excel does not support open source Active-X controls, nor does it
support Microsoft Visual Basic commands that were new in version 6 (you're
OK with version 5 commands). Excel Mac does support AppleScript, but Excel
Windows does not.

There are a few other differences. Was there something specific you had in
mind?

In general, training for Excel windows versions will do just as well on the
Mac.
