Excel Transfer File from PC to MAC causes window to be too high andmissing toolbar

Hi,

I work in a lab with a lot of file sharing between people on PCs and
MACs. Whenever I create or edit an Excel file on a PC using Microsoft
Excel 2003 and send it to another particular person with a Mac iBook
G4 laptop, the file when opened on her computer is "too high". She
runs Microsoft Excel X. It seems as if the top three rows, column
headers, and (maximize, minimize, and exit buttons for the file) is
above the screen and unreachable whatever we do. The toolbar and menu
are available to use. The window can not be moved, however it can be
re-sized if you click the lower right corner but you can't move it to
a new position. The only way to get it to leave is to exit Excel
completely. This problem only happens when she opens an Excel file
from a PC but not from any of the Macs. It even happens when a file
is made on a Mac, edited on a PC, then edited on a Mac, and emailed
from the Mac. The problem has never occured on any of the other
Macs. Any advice? Thanks!

Hi,

Excel documents remember their size and position on the screen, so
chances are the PC user is leaving the document in a high place on their
screen.

The Mac user can use the Window menu and choose Arrange.

The reposition and resize process can be automated if desired.
