Excel Unusably Slow

W

Warren Havens

Whenever I launch Excel on my Powerbook G4 running OSX 10.4.8 it takes
about 2 minutes to finally start up. I can type in a cell but if I try
to move to a different cell it takes a long time to start responding
again. I have reinstalled Office, re-updated to version 11.3, I have
repaired my permissions, all with no luck.

If I try to run Excel with a different user account it works fine so
there is something in my user library. I have tried to mess with a
number of things but I haven't found the problem. Does anyone have any
ideas?

Thanks.

I'd start by trashing com.microsoft.excel.plist, which is in your Home,
Library, Preferences folder, and then try trashing
..com.microsoft.excel.prefs.plist, which is in Home,
Library,Preferences, Microsoft. Once you've done those two, try
logging out and logging back in.

HTH.
