Excel Validation Lists

A list created for validation of cell entry is limited to 8 visible entries,
others in list being visible via side scroll bar.

Can this visible validation list (ie visible without scrolling) be increased
from 8 to a higher number

No, you can't increase the number of visible rows in the data validation
dropdown list.
