Excel VBA: Forms and cells

J

Jens Lenge

Form elements (such as checkboxes, dropdown lists etc.) can be attached to
certain cells in Excel sheets that e. g. represent the current value of the
checkbox or the possible entries of a dropdown. From VBA, I can set or query
the current value of a checkbox/dropdown etc. by accessing the attached
cell.

However, is there really no way to do this WITHOUT using auxiliary
spreadsheet cells?
How can I define the possible values of a dropdown list and query its
current selection from VBA without attaching it to certain cells?

I spent hours with the documentation but haven't found a way yet.

Cheers, Jens
