Excel Viewer does not work

N

Nicolai P. Zwar

My Excel Viewer doesn't function anymore, I cannot get it to
load. When I start it up, it says that it cannot find the XLINTL32.DLL.
I have checked on my PC, and indeed, the file seems to be no longer
there. Now I tried a re-install of the viewer, but the option of
reinstalling and repairing it is grayed; the only option left is the
un-install. Would that help? Shouldn't the Viewer simply recognize that
a file is missing?

This happened after an Office 2000 installation; so maybe this effected
the Excel viewer somehow? Would it help to un-install the viewer and the
re-install it? Or do I just have to put an xlintl32.DLL file into the
right place? It's very annoying right now, because, naturally, every
time I have to view an Excel file I now have to start up Excel.

Thanks for any ideas.

Perhaps you have the xl97 viewer installed. Don't know if it makes a
difference or not.

Download the viewer specified for xl2000 from here.

http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/xlviewer.aspx

Works fine with XL2002 and 2003 also.

Takes a few minutes only to un-install and re-install the viewer.

That would be my personal first choice.
