Since I do not have (or want) MS-Office,
but do need to display Office documents which are sent to me,
I just installed the latest Excel Viewer, Word Viewer, and Powerpoint Viewer
(along with their latest updates, service packs, and converters) on XP/SP2.
The Word Viewer has an option so that no matter how many different documents
are open, only one instance of Word Viewer will appear on the Taskbar,
and you can instead choose the desired MDI document window
within Word Viewer itself:
"Tools" > "Options" > "View" > "Windows in Taskbar" [un-check]
I can not find that option in Excel Viewer, however;
when I drag documents to an already-open Excel Viewer main window,
each document creates an undesired new instance on the Taskbar.
I'm not interested in using XP's "Group similar taskbar buttons"
as a work-around, because that introduces various other annoyances.
How can I get Excel Viewer to show itself only once in my Taskbar,
just like Word Viewer?
Thanks!
