Excel Views

Woohoo

Hi,

Is it possible to split a view more than once in Excel in one direction? So
that, for example I can have split the view into three separate horizontal
panes, one for column headings, one for totals (at the bottom) and
scrollable 'detail' in between?

Thanks in advance,

Julian Hirst

Hi Julian

I don't think this is possible.
The way I get round this, is to insert a row (or more) above my headings,
and show the totals there either by referencing the cell holding the total,
or using the SUBTOTAL(9,my_range) option
Then, Freeze panes on the row below the headings

I don't like this method, but you may:

Window|new Window
Window|Arrange|horizontal

Now you could have multiple windows into the same worksheet.

You can adjust the size to see just what you want.

When you've tried this and realize that it isn't as nice as you thought, you can
click on the window you don't want and hit ctrl-F4. (And remember to save the
workbook with just one window open--a common question around here is how to
close one of those windows.)
