Excel web queries - still crashing after Panther install

The problem I mentioned previously remains unsolved after moving to Panther.
What has changed is that notice of failure appears much faster, but
diagnosis appears to be the same:
Unexpected failure.

I'm surprised that this topic does'nt get echoed anymore, what is different
on my machine if everyone else is OK ?
Did Microsoft get back to anybody ? Never received an answer to my feedback
to them.

Hi Jacques,

Have you installed the updates?

What is your hardware configuration (processor, speed, etc.0?

Can you post a query that you have tried that does not work?

Hi Jim,

My config is (grench I'm afraid but hope it's understandable):

Modèle d¹ordinateur: Power Mac G4
Type de processeur: PowerPC G4 (3.2)
Nombre de processeurs: 1
Vitesse du processeur: 1.2 GHz
Cache de niveau 2 (par processeur): 256 Ko
Cache de niveau 3 (par processeur): 2 Mo
Mémoire: 1.12 Go
Vitesse du bus: 133 MHz
Version ROM de démarrage: 4.28f1

I installed all upgrades from original CD through 1.5, the trouble seems to
step from 1.4 (at 1.2 level the queries are still working - this was checked
on my iBook, with less applications installed - eg I don't have NetBarrier
on my iBook ).

TesQuery.txt doesn't work

Hi Jacques,

I tried your query on Excel v.X with 10.1.5 update and had the same result.
Yet, I can run the sample queries without any problem. This is indeed
bizzare. It makes no sense because the sample queries are just text files,
too.

Please take a moment to report this problem to Microsoft. I think you found
a legitimate bug. Use the feedback feature on Excel's help menu to report
this so Microsoft can work on a fix.

Hi Jim,

I did report the way you suggest some weeks ago with no echo.
I have the feeling that something weird must happen either in the
localisation (but the fact that you have also the problem probably rules
this out)
Or in the format of the files generated now.
If you "write" the same file as mine on your machine, does it work or not ?
In the meantime I'll have another go at Microsoft.

Hi

I created fresh text files, and they did not work. I'm using the exact same
version of Excel as you (except mine is using English language). \

The reporting system should generate a generic email of acknowledgement.
However, all reports are read by Microsoft managers and they are tracked in
a database. The more trouble reports they get, the higher the priority to
get fixed.
