Excel will not "talk" to Word to make a label-printing mail merge

When I try to print a list in Word from data in Excel, the list comes up
blank. I'm told the programs are not "talking" to one another. HELP!

Try making sure the worksheet is the first one and it helps in the range is
called something like Database. You can then select this range from the
word merge dialog

1. open a blank Word document
2. select the list in Excel and copy it
3. paste in the Word document

The material should appear as a table in the Word document.
