Excel window movement restricted

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I've only seen this mentioned once, but there was no solution posted before. Maybe that will change.

I have a 13" Macbook and a 24" Cinema display and MS Excel windows will only slide into the external display to the extent that upper edge of the MB display overlaps the lower edge (of the external). If the MB is placed "below", it will not move into the external display at all.

Another person posted this handy video that shows it clearly;

I've been dealing with this for over a year and have a fresh new MB doing the same thing. Time to fix it or move on.

How your MacBook puts things on the screen is a function of OS X, nothing
Microsoft could do about it :)

Maybe, and I am looking in that area as well though basic troubleshooting would compel me to first look for answers in this particular forum just the same, since every other application seems to behave appropriately except for this one.

I have also seen comments from people affiliated with this forum that suggest the application level is a reasonable venue to pursue.

I'd still be interested in reading helpful responses to this if there are any.
