Excel won't print and shutdown program

When I try and print a large excel file Excel Stops
running and gives me an error merssage "an error has
occured in your program to save work click ignor or click
close...."

Only the close button will do anything and then excel
gives me this dialog box and excel shuts down

EXCEL caused a general protection fault
in module GDI.EXE at 0026:00000066.

This happen every time I try and print these spreadsheets.
I can print simple spreadsheets though. Can anyone help
