Excel workbook will not save

Scenario: a statement needs to be written for each incident that occurred;
this means that a minimum of 4 statements per day times 52 weeks will be
written with photos to be added, each having its own reference number for
easy search.
My problem is: When I added all these objects ‘Word Documents to the
worksheet, I noticed when I would save the workbook it would took longer and
longer each time before it would finish saving, until my workbook stopped
saving all together.

I tried to undo what I done but this would not work, even deleting all the
contents of the sheet and then saving it would not work either. It still will
not save no matter what I do. I have to close the workbook without saving. I
do not know why this has happened and I don’t know how to fix it.

The good news is I have been working on a copy of my workbook and only
updated the original when all things completed to each sheet worked well.

So my question(s) are: Can this workbook be fixed that it will save? If not,
Is there another way that I can use so many word objects in my workbook? or
E.g. can I link my excel workbook to Microsoft word without having to insert
a word object. I do not want to Link to a word document as no one else will
be able to use this workbook so this is not an option.

I also get an error message that says: auto recover has been disabled for
this session in excel.

Can anyone help with the recovery of my workbook or find a better solution
to my problem.

I believe in Miracles so when I need one I come here

Hi,

You say add Word documents to Excel. Instead, why don't you create
hyperlinks to the Word documents that will cut down on the imbedded object
overhead.

As mentioned linking word documents is not an option. This workbook is not
for myself when completed it will be put onto another computer and so the
hyperlinks will not work. There's got to be another way dont you think?
