Excel X Formula Bar Missing

I'm missing the formula bar. Every time I open an excel document the
formula bar doesn;t show, I have gone thru everything without any luck.
I hav gone to "View" and the Formula Bar is checked, "Custom View" and
same thing. If anyone can help,
