Clipper-44
Posted my first question on this one a couple of weeks ago
and had useful answers from "Jase" & <Gord Dibben>.
The problem with switching data from column-row to row-
column was solved. Thank you guys.
Now, neither dBaseIII nor CA-Clipper 5.2e will accept the
dbf-file. dBaseIII won't even recognise the format.
I tried .txt and other formats too, to no avail.
Seems like the first .dbf record is some kind of a header,
carrying info about the .xls column names. In the rest of
the records fieldcontents are recognised at random it
seems. Excel data are integers 0 or 1, dbf fields are 2
position character.
I'm using MS-Office2000 SR-1, Win98SE (w. all updates).
Pretty sure I've had this working many years ago, with
Office95 or -97 on a Win95c comp.
Someone? Any hints / tips appreciated.
