How do I get rid of a letter in a range of cells that have different numbers in them as well? eg: 0.8L, 1.5L, 3.5L, etc. I only require the numbers and I want to apply a simple formula with these numbers but it won't let me whilst I have that pesky letter there. Most appreciated in advance.

Select the range, then Edit-Replace. Enter L for Find What, and nothing for
the replace with value. Make sure entire cells is not checked.

Many, many thanks, Bob; this has solved my problem.
