have a master worksheet and i am looking to take the information from one cell on this and make it copy to another work sheet. there are a few variables on it - based on cities - and therefore each work sheet will be a different city and the information taken from the master work sheet. How can i make the sure the information is copied and all the other rows based on the main filter cell of cities

It is not entirely clear what you are trying to do. However, to get
information from one worksheet to another, follow these steps:
-insure that both the source and destination workbooks are open.
-on the destination sheet, in the destination cell, type an equal sign
-use the windows menu to select the source workbook and then click on the
source worksheet.
-click in the source cell and then press enter.

This will create an active link from the destination to the source.

Hi thank you for this

this helps a little and sorry not so clear in my query

basically - i have a main spreadsheet with rows along the top - eg. name, address, city, assessor, invoice etc. this is the main master sheet and data filled in the columns below this. As this is the main sheet it doesnt need to be seen by everyone. I want to sort the data so that it is by assessos - there is a name against each property. From there I want to create a new worksheet outlining the properties attributed to the assessor so its only the information related to their property. each assessor would therefore have a work sheet with only the properties linked to their name...

sorry not too up to speed in excel!
