I have a block of 6 rows in my Excel document that is is set apart when I click in the box by a gray border. This is a selectable block. It is connected with my column headings that I have copied in my document. I can grab and move it, but I cannot undo this block. When selected it also creates an asterisk in the row number column. When deselected, the asterisk disappears. What s this?

The range has had the List Manager imposed on it. When you click in the
range the List Toolbar should appear - if not go to View> Toolbars & select
List to turn it on. If you want to remove the List Manager you can then
click the List button & select that command from the menu.

However, it is a feature that can be quite useful, so you may want to
investigate it further before doing so. The List Manager can also be turned
On/Off as desired.

As an afterthought, please avoid posting new questions as a REPLY to
existing threads. It makes it much harder on everyone - including yourself.

This is especially true when the content of the thread you're replying to is
totally unrelated to your issue & the thread is already as convoluted as
this one is.

Thanks for your consideration.

Yeah, but you titled your post "Excel." Boy, that was helpful....

Glad it helped!

Although the Subject should be concise it should be uniquely indicative of
the issue you're asking about. Vague imprecise Subjects such as "Excel" or
"format" have a tendency to get lumped in with other threads - apparently
that's what happened to yours.

The main reason I noted it is that once responders have moved away from any
given thread - especially if they didn't participate - they will most likely
not revisit it even if a new message gets posted. In many cases that means
that your message may never be seen at all.
