Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

I lost my side tool bar which I'm able to edit or change color and what not ... How do I get that back

Since you don't indicate what version of Excel & your description isn't very
explicit this is just a guess, but I assume you mean either the Formatting
Tool Bar or the Formatting Palette or - if 2008 - the Toolbox [which contains
the Formatting Palette in that version]. All of which are available from the
View menu. The Toolbox in 2008 is also available by using the Toolbox button
on the Standard Toolbar at the top of a document window.

If this doesn't help please provide complete & accurate information.

I have a Mac ibook G4 ... I have Ms OX s ... I have excel office mac 2008

when I need is the side bar which appeared once I would open excel to change color font or to add lines or anything ... it was small on the side ... gosh this really sucks I can't remember whats the name of it

Did you look in the View menu as I suggested? Everything it could possibly
be is there - In the Toolbox section select *any* of the items in the list:

Formatting Palette
Object Palette
Formula Builder
Scrapbook
Reference Tools
Compatibility Report
Project Palette

It sounds like the one you're most interested in is the Formatting Palette
but they're all parts of the Toolbox content.
