Hi ALL,
Recently, I started to notice that when I would double click (In
Windows Explorer) an Excel 2003 file on my newer machine with Excel
2007, Excel 2007 and the file would open, but the ribbon did not
include the add-ins tab and when I'd look in the VBA editor, no addins
were there. The problem did not occur if I first opened Excel 2007
and opened the work file from within Excel.
After much trial, error, and searching, I found that deleting the
Excel12.xlb file solved the problem. This machine is about 6 months
old. These XLB files have been a problem with earlier Excel
versions. How long should they be trusted before deletion to force
Excel to create a new one? How do others deal with this?
