Excel97 PasteSpecial Operation Fix?

Has there been any fix or workaround for the PasteSpecial
Operation problem with Excel 97. Excel crashes and I get
an Excel.exe has encountered an error....an error log is
being created, etc. " whenever I run a macro that includes
a line to "PasteSpecial divide by".
