excell 2002 format cell numbers

Hello

If I type in a number. say 345 . the cell always outputs
..0345 , I tried to put in general or numbers to 0 decimal
places. but then it rounds off the .0345 to just 0 .

I tried a earler version of excell and no problems. fresh
install. tried varius options. no luck.

any suggestions anyone please

<Tools> <Options> <Edit> tab,

And *uncheck* "fixed decimal places".
