Excell formula.

I wish to add together cells C12:C13, and to then add cells D1417. and to
then subtract The answer from Column C from Column D and to shoe the result
in a new cell. I have tried =sum(C12:C13)-D1417) thinking that BODMAS would
work.

try this: =sum(c12:c13) - sum(d14:d17)

Try this:

=C12+C13-SUM(D1417)

or this:

=SUM(D1417)-C12-C13

(it's not clear what you want to subtract from what).
