Excell styles

Craqon

Hi

I know how to create a style, but when I close Excel the
settings disappear. Are there no global template where you
can apply all styles to like the normal.dot from Word?

Thanks

No, Craqon. Resetting "Normal" in the Style choices requires a visit to the
Registry. Excel always opens in 'Normal'. You can then scroll to any other
choice you have created.

I do not recommend messing with Excel in the registry, but if it is only the
font that bothers you, you can change that quite easily.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/8.0/Excel/Microsoft Excel scroll
to Font right and click it. Select "Modify" and you can change the font.

If you mess with anything else, be sure to set up a System Restore Point
first. You're likely to need it!!

Good luck,

Ed

Create/modify your Styles in an empty Excel workbook, save it as a
Template (*.xlt), place it in the Templates folder, and name it
Book.xlt.

This will take the place of the default blank workbook. For previously
created workbooks you can use the "Merge" command found under
Format/Style to make styles from another workbook available in your
current workbook. Note that two files must be open in order to merge
styles.
