Exceptions to recurring items disappearing in Cached Exchange Mode

I have a Windows 2000 Server/Exchange 5.5 box with 3 Shared Calendars.
Clients are Outlook 2003. In non-cached exchange mode, the Exceptions to
Recurring Items are showing up and working fine. When I configure Cached
Exchange Mode to Download Public Folder Favorites, I lose the Exceptions to
Recurring Items.

I saved the calendars to a .pst file and uploaded it to an Exchange 2003
Server public folder. On the Exceptions to Recurring Items, I get an error
message "Cannot read one instance of this recurring appointment. Close any
open appointments and try again, or recreate the appointment."
