exchange 2003 mail is going to Inboxdead folder on outlook client

We use Exchange 2003. An office user's outlook 'Inbox' moved to the
'Deleted Items' folder and was renamed 'Inboxdead'. No reason that I know
of. Happened last week. There is an 'Infected' folder that has the old
'Inbox' and all mail before October 2007 in it. All mail after and to the
present is in the 'Inboxdead' folder and all new mail is delivered there.
The configuration follows the user to any PC and also shows up in OWA. I can
find nothing online (Google search). Ran an AV scan on PC (Symantec 10.0
Enterprise) and found a trojan that was cleaned off. Running Symantec 5.0
Exchange AV on server and had it scan her mailbox - no infections. I moved
the 'Inbox' out of the 'Infected' folder and onto the Mailbox root and moved
the newer mail from 'Inboxdead' to 'Inbox' but new arriving mail goes to
'Inboxdead' subfolder under 'Deleted Items'. I can not move 'Inboxdead'
folder.
I would like to get everything back to normal but would at least like to
change the default destination for new mail to the 'Inbox' folder.
