Exchange 2003 post install problems

i hope i dont waste anyone's time with perhaps too simple questions here... i
installed ms windows 2003 ent ed., then i installed exchange 2003 on it, but
every time i go to exchange system manager, the first thing i see in the root
of the directory (the left column) is

{335a1087-5131-4d45-be3e-3c6c7f76f5ec} (Exchange)

i did all the steps that exchange 2003 install makes you do. i ran the
Configure Your Server Wizard and enabled the pop3/smtp server after exchange
2003 install, and it went well, but it is when i go to exchange system
manager that i see that thing and there is nothing underAdministrative
Groups. Also, the exchange tabs under user properties in active directory are
not there as well...

i also uninstalled exchange2003 and reinstalled it again, but same thing....
can anyone please help me out here?
