Exchange 2007 & Outlook 2007 RPC over HTTP Issues

I've been trying to configure Outlook 2007 on a remote computer to talk to
our Exchange 2007 server using RPC over HTTP, but the login prompt keeps
re-appearing.

On Exchange, Outlook Anywhere is enabled, with an external host name of
mail.domain.com (this is also our A record for OWA). Separately, Outlook 2007
is configured a MS Exchange Server of 'mail', and the Exchange Proxy Settings
are set to http://mail.domain.com and Basic Authentication.

Per the KB artcile http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913843, this computer
doesn't have the RPC folder registry path so I cearted it. Still the problem
persists.

Can anyone help fix this?
