Sorry that the subject sounds odd—just wanted to get the key ideas in the
subject listing. In any case...
I am in the Army and at the band at Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia. I'm
the only "computer" person in our unit (50 members). Everyone wants the
following but I am clueless about Exchange Server stuff.
We are now on Active Directory and using Outlook 2003. We have a user name
set up as the calendar for the unit and when accessing the calendar via the
local network, everything works great with users, groups and permissions.
What we'd like to be able to do is see the unit calendar via the web without
allowing everyone the ability to change events (currently, only 5 individuals
are set with permissions to change calendar entries on the local network).
Is it possible to set Exchange 5.5 to show the unit calendar (which has its
own user name) to members logging into the network from home with their
personal user names?
The DOIM IT people here wanted us to try logging into the Exchange server
with the calendar's user name and then when the network log-on popped up, log
on there with their personal user name and password. The response was that
OCW could not retrieve their calendar.
Any input or help would be greatly appreciated.
