Exchange 5.5 Org and a new 2003 org - GALSYNCH

Hi
Can anyone point me in the right direction... I need to keep a 5.5 Org and a 2003 Org in directory synch over a WAN. I have experience of MIIS but this would cost the earth and be overkill
Can anyone recommend a simple, cheaper tool
