Exchange account linked to wrong contacts file...

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I have an issue with my Exchange linking to my Address Book in my "Folders On My Computer" tree.

My Mail and Calendar listed under my Exchange profile work fine, but the Contacts listed in that profile are not effected by anything...

If I make a change in Address Book it is reflected on my Exchange web mail and my Blackberry (and vice versa), but nothing with the profile contacts...

Any advice is welcome!

I don't understand what you mean by this.

Is your Exchange account set as your 'Default' account?

Yes, it is. That's what is strange - Email and Calender work just fine - Contacts is in the same profile tree, but Exchange is syncing with my On my Computer address book...

Exchange cannot sync with your local Address Book. It has no concept of
anything outside your account.

If you're finding that changes to your local Address Book are somehow
affecting your Exchange account's Contacts list then you may have
Database corruption in Entourage. I suggest you select Entourage menu
--> Switch Identity and create a new identity. Set up your Exchange
account again and migrate any data from the old identity to the new one.

Hope this helps!

Thanks William - That's what I'll do. The Mail and Calendar will come down on it's own from the exchange server, but how would you recommend migrating the "Address Book" into the new Contacts/Identity??

Regardless of what you do, you'll lose categories, so be aware of that.

You can either select File --> Export... and export them to a .rge file
or text file.

Or, you can simply drag and drop them from Entourage into a folder on
your Desktop. Switch identities and drag them back.

Hope this helps!
