Exchange Connection Problem

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I have one user who cannot connect to Exchange. His account says (not connected). I have rebuilt the database, tried a new identity, created a new account and tried there with no luck. I have also deleted all Entourage related preferences I can find. I can connect to OWA and can connect to Exchange with Apple's mail client. If I configure this user on another computer Entourage and Exchange work fine together. This account was originally configured with the wrong mail server info and I wonder if it is stuck trying to reconcile that information. However, it seems it must be a systemwide file because creating a new user account didn't help. Does anyone know what system files I can try to remove in order to get Entourage working for this user. Thank you.

Well the Apple client uses IMAP, so you can't really compare the two.
If OWA is enabled, that's a good first step too.
Usually this problem is reflective of 2 things: The configuration is
incorrect (copy the OWA link from your Web browser and use it as the
Exchange address - the whole thing with the http and everything), or
there is a script on the server that changes the login page and affects
how Entourage can get in.
Could it be the later??

I have put the OWA url exactly in the server settings. The weird thing is that this exact same configuration will work on any other computer in Entourage allowing this user account to connect except for this particular computer. Also, all logins are the same for each user and every other user in our organization can connect just fine.

Also, when I quit out of this users Entourage I get the message that a network operation is in progress. No schedules are checked and taking it offline and then back online doesn't fix this problem.

Are you using Kerberos authentication? If so try using standard
authentication instead.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for both of your replies. Just wanted to update in case anyone has this problem in the future. I needed to flush the dns cache. Once I did this everything connected just fine.
