I recently bought a MotoQ w/ Windows 5.1, and decided to install Outlook 2007
to add sync capabilities that Windows Calendar does not. My home computer
runs Windows Vista. This was all fine and dandy for a while -- I had a POP3
e-mail account going to my inbox so I wouldn't have to rely on Webmail, and I
synced my calendar, contacts, and tasks to my phone. I don't care about
e-mail on my phone because I don't have a good data plan.
Fast forward to now. The University has revamped its webmail system to
Outlook WebAccess. These are password protected accounts as dictated by IT. I
was initially excited as now I thought I'd be able to sync calendars between
Outlook 2007, Outlook Web (so I won't have to type on the tiny little phone
buttons if I've got to add appointments on campus), and my phone. However,
the calendar in Outlook 2007 is now blank, my phone has a separate calendar,
and when I try to sync I receive this error message: "Cannot synchronize with
the Outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously
set up or the profile is password-protected.
Please open Outlook using the appropriate profile."
So how do I get back to normal? I want to preserve the calendar on my phone
and make it be the master, eventually. Again, I don't know if the problem is
the password required by the mail server or that I have a new profile, but
I'd like to have things running smoothly again.
