Exchange rules

Ernst Guckel

Hello,

I have outlook 2007 running with exchange. I have multiple SMTP addresses
assigned to my account. I am trying to setup rules to move messages sent to
specific SMTP addresses into folders. The problem is that when I create the
rule and enter the email it converts it to my name and email gets moved into
all folders. Is there a way to sort emails into folders based on the 'TO'
field with exchange?

Ernst.

if the to address is a secondary address for your exchange mailbox, you need
to use 'words in the header' rules that look for that address. It will not
work with BCC'd messages though, as there won't be an address in the header.

Well, it *might* work. Some SMTP servers will insert the RCPT TO address
into the Received headers.

It also might not work for mailing lists (or it might, following the same
above) which aren't technically BCC'd messages.
