Exchange Server Constant Dialing

M

Melinda Mayne

I have just installed the MS Exchange Server patch to allow me to connect to
the server at my work. It works beautifully - I can see public folders and
faxes and my email folder on the server itself.

However, I also take my ibook off the server a lot and now entourage
constantly tries to dial into the internet (I also have a dial up connection
for travelling and at home). This constant dial up and error messages are a
real pain in the butt.

I have got the PPP Session Options set so that it does NOT connect
automatically when needed.

Any ideas for how I can solve this annoying little problem?

Thanks

Melinda

Hi Melinda,

I'm surprised one of the Entourage gurus has not replied. I'm sure someone
who knows will come out of the woodwork if I post the wrong information, so
I'll take a stab at it.

I think there's a setting in Entourage that lets you "work offline."
Turning that feature on should keep Entourage from asking the operating
system for stuff that's needed by a network connection.
