Exchange server Entourage rules not working

I've recently set up a couple of rules in Entourage under Mail
(Exchange) but instead of moving the email to a folder on the Exchange
server it moves it to the Inbox of my Folders on My Computer.

The rule is straightforward and I've checked the destination folder in
the rule is the correct one. The rule has just one criteria, If
subject contains [name] Move message to [folder called [name]].

I'm using Entourage 11.3.3 and OS 10.4.9

Many thanks

Your rule should work then. The most common cause of messages moving to
the Inbox folder under "Folders on My Computer" is a Mailing List
Manager rule accidentally created when flagging something as "Not Junk".

Check under Tools --> Mailing List Manager and make sure you don't have
a rule there acting first. Delete it if you don't need it.

Hope this helps! bill

If it's not a MLM rule then do doublecheck your first rule. I suggest
even though you have the correct folder selected that you use the
"Choose folder..." option at the bottom of the folder selection list to
reselect the folder. When selected you should see the Exchange account
name at the end of the folder name in the rule.

If that doesn't work then verify other rules aren't acting on the
message first. You can disable them (but keep them) by simply
deselecting the checkbox next to each rule and test by right-clicking a
message and selecting "Apply Rule --> All Rules". Your message should
move based on your currently enabled rules.

If your one rule doesn't work and you have no other rules then try
deleting and recreating that rule.

And finally, if none of the above works for you then you may have
database corruption. You can verify the integrity of your database by
relaunching Entourage with the Option key held down.

Hope this helps! bill
