Exchange Synch Mystery

I have just synched my Entourage 2008 with my Exchange 2003 server at work.
The calendar synchs perfectly but I get no contacts or e-mail. It appears to
be synching but nothing appears in these folders. I have seen on the web
where others have had this issue but I found no solutions. Any ideas?

I have instructions here for configuring Entourage 2004 with Exchange.
They should work for Entourage 2008 too.

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server at work"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeatwork.html>

I suggest manually entering your name and password and verifying that
works before switching to Kerberos. Kerberos will not work in all
environments.

Hope this helps!

Bill - All the setup components seem to be correct. I just cannot synch mail
and contacts. Calendar is fine. I can actually send mail from Entourage via
the exchange server but cannot receive it. Any other thoughts?

Are you sure that your mail server is Exchange Server 2003 and not 2007?

Some folks who connect to Exchange Server 2007 require this as their
server address:

server.domain.com/exchange/[email protected]

I also have a sidebar on this blog post with instructions for finding
your correct Exchange servers using Outlook. Maybe you've been provided
some incorrect server information:

"Optimize Entourage to better work with Exchange"

Hope this helps!

After 6 weeks of frustration and letter writing to Microsoft, I was finally
granted one free exchange support incident and along with my IT person, the
issue was solved. I am not an IT person, but I understand this to be some
sort of MAPI default setting which needed to be changed. If anyone is
interested, post me an address and I can send two documents my IT person
prepared.
